It was my mother and her sisters that started me thinking about beauty rest because they were always saying how much they needed it. I suppose it’s just that when you’re young you don’t appreciate just how beneficial for you a good night’s rest is. Scientists now know just how important it is for your mental and physical health to get a good night’s sleep. We reflect on the outside, how we feel on the inside, it’s that simple.
If you want to see how well someone is sleeping then take a look at their face, you can tell I’m not sleeping well if you look at mine. Unfortunately, getting one that is not to soft or too firm isn’t easy but if you don’t it will affect the way you sleep. You may be having a problem because the bed isn’t large enough. Sharing your bed with another is another reason why people have a problem sleeping. You should always have enough space to stretch out and not feel cramped if you want that good night’s sleep.
So if you have a comfortable, large bed and you still can’t sleep then you must consider your environment. Cluttering your bedroom with things that are not suppose to be in there, i.e. work, is not going to help you relax in this environment. Another interruption to your beauty rest may be from outside lights or intrusion from sound. Background noises can be stopped by a ‘white noise’ generating system that eliminates unwanted sound and using a sleep mask to stop distracting light.
